Audio Stories

1)

I choose this story because the brief description caught my eye. I always wondered how most people became homeless and how they live through not having a home to live in and not always getting a meal to eat. Decided to hear her story, I clicked it. I was shocked by what she explained to me, how first she lost her job, than her money, last her home. At first, I was confused when she told me that her daughter offered to take her in, yet Queen didn't think that it was right for her to live with her daughter because kids are not suppose to take care of the parent, the parent are suppose to take care of the kid. That's how Queen saw it.
I could tell the emotions in her voice. When she sniffled, I felt that that was a touching moment for her. The part where she told how she wanted to give her daughter a birthday card real bad, but didn't have the money to do so. At the point where she explained how a guy gave her 10 dollars for her to by the card, I could hear how thankful she was at the moment, it made me say "aww" at the point because I could tell it really meant a lot for her. I also liked how she used the money to buy something for someone who is already doing well, instead of buying something for herself. I know now how tough the economy could really be, it scares me a bit.

This funny story threw a lot of curve balls at me, which is probably why I grew a liking to this story. At the begging, Martin talked about how he disliked this girl in his class, I thought that he was going to talk about how they would have battles and pull pranks on each other, but when he said that he married her and they stayed together for a long time, that put a shocked expression on my face. I was expecting him to say that they're still enemies till this day, but he did. I still found that pretty neat how they could set aside their differences. The tone in his voice told me that this was going to be a funny story, along with the bits of laughter that was thrown into the story.
I enjoyed how Martin had a main story to tell, then had mini stories that followed the same subject as the main story. All of the stories he told were both funny and sweet. I laughed at some points and said "aww" and other points, but there were times where I forgot what the main story was about. I enjoyed the jokes he made through out the story because they weren't random, they fit the moment. Not trying to be a comedian, just telling the story how it went. It as a great twisting story.
